Wenjun Xie’s work delves into the intimate relationship between materials and the stories they hold, with a strong emphasis on the human experience—perception, emotion, narrative, and collective memory. Drawn to mediums infused with history and nostalgia, she selects each material for its unique resonance and capacity to carry meaning. Personal and collective memories, along with the objects that embody them, are carefully gathered and assembled, piece by piece. This contemplative process of reconstruction is both the foundation and the driving force of her artistic practice.
